2024 Student Scholarship Application

Who’s Eligible for this scholarship?

  1. Must be an SFUSD high school senior or have attended an SFUSD school.
  2. Must be of Latino heritage.
  3. Must explain financial need.
  4. Must demonstrate a commitment to a college education.
  5. Must demonstrate leadership in your community and commitment to give back to your community.

Scholarship’s Priority Criteria

  1. Be a “Dreamer”.
  2. Financial need (not as likely to get other scholarships).
  3. Community service & commit­ment to give back.
  4. Southeastern quadrant.
  5. First in family to go to college.
  6. Academics…especially if has faced challenges and struggled!

To apply for the scholarship:

  1. A completed application (See attachment).
  2. A Personal Statement (See application), Everything can be written in Spanish or English.
  3. Two letters of recommendation (only 1 page each) from SFUSD staff, and one can be from mentors/supervisors from a community organization in which you participate. Ask them to please limit it to one page. It does not need to be sealed nor confidential.
  4. A copy of your most current high school transcript (official not needed)

Timeline each school year:

  • 1st Friday in March – We must have the application. We will notify you the result about 4 weeks later.
  • 1st Friday in May - Scholarship Dinner/Dance Celebration (if COVID is under control). During this event, the recipients and their families will be honored. Each recipient will enter free and will receive one other free ticket.
  • The scholarship application due date this year is Friday, March 1st, 2024

  3. Submit Google form with all components of application uploaded as PDF (force copy of application)

Start completing the application TODAY, even if you think you will not qualify. We prioritize SFUSD students (including “dreamers”) who face challenges.
